Hello, my name is Roberta Bertelli. I am from Treviso, Italy.
I am in touch with some friends in Gaza that I am trying to help.
For several years I sent them money to buy food and clothes. Primarily I am in contact with a young and generous woman named Asmaa, from Kahn Yunis.
Since I've known her she's always tried to help the people around her.
Now she asked me to create this fundrising to give her the means to save her children from hunger and death.
This is a message frome her:
"Gaza is not just a geographical location; it's a story suspended between life and death, where daily suffering transforms into a struggle for survival and a desperate search for a glimmer of hope. This is my true story, a story of immense suffering. I desperately hope you will help me and my children.
My name is Asmaa, I am 33 years old, born in the Gaza Strip. I am a mother of four. Despite all the hardships we endured, we were displaced from Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip to Rafah. My children and I faced danger, humiliation, and insults. We were then displaced to the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis. I was holding my infant, who was only a few months old, along with my other children. We overcame unimaginable hardships. Here are some aspects of this suffering and our journey to escape. The agony of being trapped under rubble and the desperate pleas for help: Heartbreaking stories of families unable to rescue their loved ones trapped beneath the debris, where the blood of martyrs mingles with the rubble. Fleeing with my children under bombardment: Thousands of women have been displaced from their homes in the south, first to Rafah and then to the ports of Khan Younis, where life is being born in tents or UN-run schools, amidst a complete lack of basic medical care. A chronic siege: The residents of the Gaza Strip, besieged for years, live lives tossed about by war and poverty, making leaving a necessity for survival. The Journey Out: The Search for "Life" - The Expensive Exit Ticket: Some are forced to spend their savings, deal with brokers, or wait for lengthy and complicated coordination permits to leave through the Rafah crossing. It's a journey fraught with danger and waiting. The Hope of Survival: Palestinians don't leave Gaza in search of luxury, but it's often a forced departure to seek medical treatment for a sick person or to rescue children from the hell of war. I'm searching for one of these opportunities to save my children from death. We have nothing left here. We've lost everything. We have no homes or land left. We have nothing left. Perhaps we have some hope related to the issue of life: Despite the death, Gazans insist on securing their families' needs and searching for a better future. Leaving the Gaza Strip: Here, there are many painful stories of children and women who die waiting for permission to cross the border to leave Gaza. The story of leaving Gaza is a series of perpetual farewells, where a person leaves their home, their memories, and sometimes parts of their family, hoping to find a safe place, while their hearts remain attached to the alleys of Gaza. I hope you will help me leave. And my children are safe. Any support, however small, can make a big difference in my life. "
Please help Asmaa and her children. All the money collected will be send to her through PayPal, since she does not have access to a bank account.
