Last Saturday morning our brother Leo was in a horrific car accident after dropping Morgan off at work. Leo has been diagnosed with Syncope which causes him to black out or faint - this was what caused his accident. ( Syncope, also known as fainting, is a loss of consciousness and muscle strength characterized by a fast onset, short duration, and spontaneous recovery). As you can see by the picture of his vehicle this could have been so much worse and we are all just so grateful that we still have him.
He has suffered 4 broken ribs, a cracked vertebrae in his neck, he had brain hemorrhaging and suffered some damage to one of his lungs due to the broken ribs. Leo dragged himself out through his broken windshield which lead to numerous cuts and needless to say he was covered in stitches/staples and massive bruising. I couldn't believe what I saw when I walked in and first saw him last Saturday in ICU - it broke my heart.
Leo was in ICU for 2 days and a regular room for another day or two and he is home now but he has a long recovery ahead of him.
Leo does not have the ability to work for quite some time and needs our help. He will need to replace his vehicle at some point as well as medical bills and day-to-day living expenses. We are hoping that we can raise enough funds to allow Leo to worry only about his recovery right now and give him a helping hand!
I am merely the organizer of this event for Leo, all funds will go directly to him as he needs/requests them.
As hard as it is for us Austin's to ask for help, it is with a very grateful and humble heart that we reach out to you for help today.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
