Just days ago, we were told our dad’s life was in danger. His Oncologist told us that if we wanted to see him talking and able to communicate, we needed to come now. We were told he would likely not make it out of the hospital — and if he did, it would be a blessing. So we came. We rushed from California to Oklahoma to be with him and support our mom. Our dad is a father to five — his four daughters are in California, while he and our mom had recently moved to Oklahoma. And then… something incredible happened. Yesterday, our dad, David, celebrated his 70th birthday — and he danced. That’s who he is. A Marine veteran, devoted husband, and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather — the man who has always shown up for everyone else. Now he’s facing the fight of his life. He has aggressive Stage IV lung cancer on top of pulmonary fibrosis. Everything has happened so fast. Right now, he is home, but we are urgently trying to bring him back to California to be closer to his daughters, have stronger support, and access more treatment options. He is on oxygen and undergoing treatment, so travel must be carefully coordinated. Our mom will need to relocate to care for him, along with our brother who depends on them, while we also manage their home in Oklahoma. We are facing overwhelming expenses, including medical travel with oxygen, portable equipment, housing, and ongoing care. We are not asking for years. We are asking for more time. If you know our dad, you know he would never ask for help — so we are asking for him. If you can donate, pray, or share, it means everything to us.
