We Stand For Alex

In 2014 Alex was literally brought to his knees by the symptoms of Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS), the most severe and untreatable form of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). In the span of five years, Alex, previously a physically robust athlete, has experienced the loss of his ability to perform the basic activities of daily living: dressing, walking, bathing, eating and all self-care.


In the face of this aggressive and debilitating illness, Alex has inspired friends, family and acquaintances with his remarkable resiliency. He has consistently acted with grace, humor and courage. Despite the constant emotional and physical hurdles that he has had to navigate, Alex has remained positive and appears more concerned about the impact the disease is having on his parents than on himself.


The speed of Alex’s physical deterioration has overwhelmed his family’s ability to finance the accommodations necessary to help Alex live his life safely and with dignity. There is an urgent need for help to fund structural accommodations to his basic living space. Most importantly:


• A ramp and enlarged entrance way to provide him with safe entry into and exit out of his house
• A motorized lift to help maintain basic hygiene and self-care
• A new wheelchair to meet his increasing physical needs


On behalf of his family and friends, we are launching the “We Stand for Alex” fund to help support Alex and his family in their battle with MS. Our goal is to immediately raise $15,000.
