My name is Ella Bahari and I’m raising money for the Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that feeds our neighbors in need in Westchester.
The Food Pantry provides food assistance for people in our own backyard who are struggling during this challenging time.
Before the pandemic, the food pantry served 300 families per week but now, due to COVID-19, 500 families per week rely on the donations from the food pantry.
I’m asking you to please join me in supporting the important work of the pantry. Thank you for your support.
In addition to raising money for the food pantry, I have created an inspirational photo sharing group called “We Are Westchester.”
The idea is to create awareness and a sense of community for how COVID-19 has affected life in Westchester and how we can inspire and support one another and how we will make it through this challenging time. We are all looking forward to when life returns back to normal, but we want to be here now to support our fellow citizens.
I’m asking people to send me photos of themselves holding up signs saying, “We Are ____” and to fill in the blank with a message of what’s important for each person. For example, “We Are Heroes” or “We Are Hopeful”, etc.
I will post photos that people submit on this Facebook page (@WeAreWestchester) and Instagram page (@WeAreWestchester20) and then when it’s safe to be out in public, my plan is to print out and display these photos in Northern Westchester in an area that will become a public art space where we can congregate and remember the challenges that we faced and overcame.
Thank you for helping to create virtual community at a time when we need it most.
