We are sponsoring 3 Eritrean refugees

Hi dear friends,

World Refugee Day is fast approaching, and we are fortunate to be part of a group of friends who have sponsored three refugees: two sisters, Salamawit and Rawha, and their cousin, Semere. Semere arrived on June 6th, and the sisters will join us soon.

These three are cousins of our close friend Dawit, so they will have a strong community upon their arrival. However, living in Toronto is expensive, especially compared to when we applied to be sponsors in 2021.

We are reaching out to our broader community for help with fundraising, support, and in-kind donations. Specifically, we are urgently looking for HOUSING! If you know of any affordable housing options in West End Toronto (such as a basement unit or a bedroom), please let us know.

Additionally, we are seeking financial contributions through this GoFundMe. Any amount will help us in this journey. All proceeds will directly support the three cousins.

Semere is a professional tailor and is looking for work if anyone needs anything hemmed or sewed, or a suit or dress made.
