Pandemic Covid-19 that strikes the whole world deeply affects the Sherpas in Nepal.
Following the « The Escapist » conference, Gabriel Filippi will present a free Facebook 'live' on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 13h00 a.m. (Montreal time) to help Sonam and all the Nepalese staff who work with him every year.
The conference entitled « We are Sherpas » will take you to Nepal, on a trek and an expedition, on the roof of the world: Mount Everest. During this presentation, his friend, Tendi Sherpa, will talk about the current situation in Nepal. Unlike us, Nepalis do not receive any help from their government and do not have the means to save money . Their situation is very precarious. In addition, the spring tourist season is cancelled, and we have strong doubts that this fall's season will take place.
So, we are launching a « GoFundMe » campaign for them. As in the mountains, every little step takes us to the top, so all donations will make a difference. It is time to show them that we can be Sherpas.
