Hi everyone,

My two brothers and I are running in various events (marathon, half marathons and 10ks!) over the next few months to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, and Breast Cancer Now. Recently, our own family has been affected by cancer - my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and is so grateful for the incredible, swift support of the NHS and Breast Cancer Nurses. Mum is only just off the start line of her own journey - she'll shortly undergo surgery to remove a fairly large tumour (a 10cm that was quietly hiding away!) and then will await what further treatment is needed. Mum's cancer is slow growing and treatable - so normal service will absolutely resume at some point. Mum counts herself really lucky..and has said once treatment is over she will run a 5k herself!

We know not everyone is this lucky, and that’s exactly why we’re taking part in various races across the country which includes Josh running the Gateshead-Newcastle marathon...Tom doing the Gateshead- Newcastle half marathon, Tom running the Exeter half marathon...and Tom and I completing a 10k Race for Life. Together, the three of us want to raise money for vital cancer research. It's because of advances in research that my mum can receive such incredible treatment.

The funds will be evenly split between Cancer Research UK and Breast Cancer Now.
