We Are Monsters x Glass: A New Nightmare

Donation protected
Following a five-star reviewed run of 'One Day When We Were Young' by Nick Payne: Offie-nominated company 'Just a Regular House' productions return to the stage this Halloween with a new writing, double-bill nightmare: We Are Monsters & Glass.

About us:

Our team consists of Joseph Ryan Hughes (founder), Laura Mugford & Connor McCrory (company directors). We all work equally and united to produce the best work possible.

In the past year, we have been very fortunate: having been nominated for the 'Offies' and London Pub Theatre's 'Standing Ovation' award twice and shortlisted for the LET Award 2023 at Greenwich Theatre. We now want to keep going.

As a company, we want to bring bold new work and adaptations to a variety of spaces: work that inspires, challenges and creates a memorable experience for all those who come and visit. As we like to say in our company: 'We write, direct, act, fight, cry, and play, just like any other regular house of people. We would love for you to join in.'

The Project:

We now need your help to fuel this nightmare to its fullest terror! The double-bill runs this October for a two-week period, going across the Halloween week for 10 performances in total. We will be debuting this work at the Barons Court Theatre in London. Here's some information about our two new plays:

WE ARE MONSTERS:

"This isn’t... how the story goes."

Caitlyn and Kyle enjoy playing pranks and scaring campers on Lake Windermere, but their harmless fun turns into trouble when they’re tracked down by a nearby ghost-whisperer.
Written by Joseph Ryan-Hughes.

GLASS:

"How could you ever become what I have, ay?"

Upon the ninth floor of a skyscraper on Halloween night, a terrified Brody Jenkins receives an ominous phone call from a stranger on a broken-down train.
Written by Connor McCrory.

Why do we need cash - and what are we going to do with it?

While the best west-end productions can have huge budgets on set, costume and paying actors and technicians, fringe theatre just doesn’t have that luxury.

But tiny budgets don’t mean tiny shows - we create bold and brilliant theatre that makes a real impact, and you can make that happen! Any donations, both big and small, help us pay our cast and creatives a wage for all their hard and dedicated work, and help finance rehearsal space hire, set and costume materials and all the tech needed to bring our work to life.
