As Turkish people who are working at Distilled, we are shocked and devastated by the news from our home. On Monday(6th February), 2 major earthquakes measuring 7.8-magnitude struck near Turkey’s southeast in the space of 12 hours. The earthquake is one of the strongest to hit the region in more than 100 years. The disaster affected at least 10 provinces where more than 10 million people are living.

More than 25.000 people lost their lives, tens of thousands more were injured and an unknown number missing. The impact has been devastating. Authorities are currently unable to say how high the death toll may rise, as search and rescue operations continue. Charities are already on the ground providing emergency aid to those who need it most, but they need your support. Turkey made an urgent call for international assistance.

Ahbap is one of the most active voluntary networks and it is currently the most coordinated organization in the affected regions. All funds raised from this fundraiser will be sent to Ahbap for rescue and relief operations. Our company Distilled is going to match the donations up to €5,000.

Any donation, no matter how small, will help Ahbap provide much-needed aid to those affected by the earthquake.
