To our Dearest Friends & Family,

Our beloved Burt is now living 'as if' he has cancer. 

The past few months have been very hard on our family as Burt has been suffering with physical pain in his face/head off and on since the beginning of June.  

We thought we were chasing down a never-ending sinus infection that 2-3 rounds of antibiotics wasn't curing. However, after a recent CT scan, an Ear Nose & Throat (ENT) specialist identified a mass in Burt's right sphenoid sinus.

Apparently, people of SE Asian descent carry a genetic marker for nasopharyngeal cancer that eating salted proteins can trigger. (You can read more about it here.) 

Burt's brother Calvin passed away in 2008 from a cancer that began eerily similar to what Burt has been experiencing. Chemo & radiation gave Calvin an 18-month long remission before metastasizing in his liver & then taking his life quickly.

Although Burt may qualify for MediCal, he is clear that he does not want to take a conventional approach to his healing. He will show up for a consultation with an allopathic doctor this Friday, August 10th, to discuss biopsy options. However, Burt is committed to a non-invasive and non-destructive path of healing & regeneration. 

Since receiving the news that he could have a tumor, Burt has taken immediate and drastic steps towards alkalizing & detoxing his body, as well as living a life in which food is medicine. He has also been assembling a team of wise and educated health practitioners committed to his highest health and well being. He will continue to work side-by-side with them, and others, in calling upon various healing modalities, such as acupuncture, Ayurveda & more, in addressing the dis-ease in his body.

We are now asking for your help during this time in which we realign our family towards a 'new normal.' For over a decade now, Burt has been an important pillar of support to so many. From assisting others on their recovery journeys to being a wise and compassionate father figure in our conscious, dance community, Burt works towards our collective evolution, as well as his own.

He graciously plays the role of Papa Burt to many, as well as provides the space and infrastructure for dozens of children, and their families, to grow and learn together.

Burt is committed to his healing, as he says "I will beat this thing!"

We are visualizing shrinking this mass naturally and then having it removed through his nose. Please hold that vision with us.
