WE NEED YOUR HELP

Rescue Hub Sydney Dog Rescue are very sad, and absolutely heartbroken to advise that we have reached a point that we just cannot rescue any more dogs at the moment ☹️

And we are just two weeks away from closing our doors completely!

We have saved more dogs than ever this past year and whilst we are so very proud of this achievement, unfortunately many of the dogs we have saved, have required extensive vet work, life saving procedures and care, and with no space at the rescue, we have been forced to use board and train facilities to save so many dogs that would have otherwise been killed.

We save the dogs no one else will. We save dogs that are considered reactive, or aggressive, the ones that need training and cannot be rehomed without being rescued first. The ones no one can get near due to their fear, but we spend time building a rapport.

We have also saved dogs the pound will only release to us if they go to specialized training first which costs a minimum of $5900 for one dog.

As a rescue that believes all dogs are worthy of a home, we cannot say no. We cannot turn down a request to help a dog we know is going to die when we know their life is worth living and saving. Who else is going to be their voice! Our hearts are huge, but our bank balance is not.

The expenses initially expected and budgeted for have been so much more than anticipated over the past year, and costs that we just could never have predicted.

Without funds, we just cannot continue. We do mini fundraisers occasionally for individual dogs vet bills but we never raise even half of those costs.

We received no animal welfare grants this year or last, and our rescue is funded by donations and fundraising alone. Our adoption fees are low and for a healthy dog with no issues, the adoption fee does not even cover half of the cost of its vet work which must be completed prior to adoption.

Some of the large expenses we have had JUST FOR THE PAST MONTH include the following:

- Electricity (3 months) $2205

- Rent $3800 per month

- Board and Train fees for 6 dogs - $16240.00 for one month.

- 11 year old Blaze’s eye surgery $3235

- Charger’s CT scan & other investigations $1890

- 11 year old Lexie’s infection, toe amputation, multiple sedations to have her dressing changed $2700 & this is still ongoing

- 3 dogs vet boarding & desexing for Keira, Belle and Nina $1197

- Border Collie x Puppies Boarding 4 x11 days, and 2 x 2 days $2352 plus Vaccination, microchipping, Heart worm test, and treatment for Hook worm which all pups were positive for when rescued $1004

We still have unpaid bills of approximately $10000 and are yet to receive invoices for:

- Emergency vet consults and treatment for 2 dogs over Easter &

- Cattle dog Wombat’s training

Totaling more than $5000

We have funds in the bank to cover just two more weeks expenses of rent and board and train fees. We have nowhere to put the dogs in board & train and no emergency funds to cover any unexpected expenses.

We have been hit so hard this past month but also over the past year. We really need your help. We hate to ask but there is sadly no other way for us to keep going.

We have over 60 dogs in our care - at the rescue, in foster homes and in board and train facilities. If we don’t get our bank balance up and cover our outstanding bills we simply cannot save any more dogs and will need to close our doors.

Please help if you can, every dollar donated goes towards the dogs that no one else wanted to help.

There are so many more dogs that need us too and we are devastated to not be in a position to be able to help them at the moment.
