BEN'S TEAM ALBERTA BBALL COSTS

Hi, my name is Mike Simmons and my wife Carolin and I are both so very proud of our son Ben for making it on the Alberta U15 Basketball Team.  He has worked so hard to achieve this goal and literally lives and breathes the game of basketball.  The cost of the summer for Ben will come to about $6000.00 which includes the fees for Team Alberta and travelling costs to and from tournaments and practices (5- 8 hour drive  every other weekend). The first payment is due on the first of May.
             The reason we have started this "Go Fund Me" account for Ben is beacuse my wife Carolin has been battling breast cancer for 10 years now and the burden of this fight has taken its toll on us financially.  She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer 10 years ago and since then she has undergone breast surgery, ovarian surgery, spinal surgery, Chemotherapy (2 times) radiation 3 times.  She now has had metastatic Bone Cancer and Metastatic Lung Cancer.  She is my personal hero.  
             We have worked very hard to make our boys lives as uneffected as possible during this long terrible fight.  The cost of this Team Alberta program is going to be very difficult for us to come up with on our own and we don't want Ben to miss out on this wonderful opportunity of representing Alberta at the U15 Nationals in Manitoba.  We are in the process of applying for some grants which may or may not come through (and will only cover about 1/3 of the cost if they do). We would be so thankful to each and every one of you who can offer any kind of support in helping us to support Ben with this opportunity .
