On June 25, my 59-year-old son, Robert, went missing in Alaska. He worked for the National Park Service. He was out adventuring on his days off. When he didn't report back to work, they called and reported him missing.
The last contact with him was at near Skilak Lake.
Search and rescue was called, and they searched for several days. He was not found. SAR was called off. A request was made for sonar and divers, but the request was denied. I have written letter to the president and not heard anything back. I also have emailed Jerry Moran. State senator
As of today, nothing else has been done to find him.
I hope some experienced divers see this and will help find my son.
In the meantime, I need to get his vehicle and all personal belongings home .
This is going to be expensive, and any help will be appreciated. It will either have to be shipped back or friends will fly out and drive it back.
Robert was an Eagle Scout, a member of the Army National Guard, and Special Forces.
He survived two heart attacks and cancer.
He has done a lot of hiking and backpacking, having hiked the Appalachian and several other trails. He loved the outdoors.
