Hi, My name is Eddie and I’d like to tell you a little about my best friend, Mr. Tiberius. Tiberius (T for short) came into my life a little over 12 years ago. My roommate found him as a stray cat wandering in a supermarket on a rainy night and brought him home. We joked that he was a bodega cat who had left to find bigger things but within the realm of what he knew, food retail. I was distant with him at first, not wanting to get too close only for it to end in some sort of heartbreak, but despite my distance, T wriggled his way into my heart as he does with everyone he meets. T is a cat unlike any other I’ve ever met. He’s a charmer, a peace keeper, he’s a protector, and he loves to love. Never in my life have I met such an affectionate animal. If you come over T will always be the first to greet you and immediately want to jump in your lap and charm you into giving him head scratches and cuddles. When I’m sick, T checks up on me and if I’m not in the mood for cuddles he’ll stand outside my door and make sure no one comes in to bother me. When my parents passed, T was there to console me, he’d sit with me and give me this reassuring look as if to tell me it would be okay. Every time I’ve been down on my luck or unwell, T has been there to make it better. You’d never think that a little cat could teach you so much about friendship and love, but that is the amazing being that is Tiberius.
T is older now but you wouldn’t think it by the way he acts. At 14, he’s still high energy, he’s still protecting, he’s still maintaining order among the other cats and he still loves to love. About 2 weeks ago T began showing signs that something was wrong. After having some blood work done and some basic tests the vet found that some of his intestines had hardened up and he suspects that he may have Lymphoma. He said his blood work was amazing for a cat his age and if it wasn’t for the intestines that T would be in incredible shape. Unfortunately, his intestines being the way they are, there aren’t a lot of options. The best ones being completely out of my price range… heck, even the initial vet visit was out of my price range, but I have to try, I can’t give up on him because he’s never given up on me. T will need countless more vet visits, he’s going to need an ultrasound and he will probably need chemotherapy which will end up costing thousands.
I don’t like to ask for help in financial matters, it’s a very difficult thing to do for me but I have no other options. T needs help and he needs it right away before it’s too late for him. T needs your help and I need your help. Anything that you can give would mean so much to me and to one of the most loving, amazing, little beings that was ever put on this Earth. Thank you so much for reading through this and thank you so much for any help you can give.
