Hi, my name is Riley, and I’m asking for help for my little black cat, Milo — my best friend and sidekick.

Two years ago, Milo and his brothers and sisters were found abandoned in a garbage yard. They were just tiny kittens trying to survive in the cold. My Friends helped rescue them, and Milo spent his first months living safely at my aunt’s house with me. When I finally saved enough to move into my own place, I brought him home to stay with me for good.

Since then, he’s been my everything — the calm after long days, the shadow that follows me from room to room, the one who always curls up beside me no matter what kind of day it’s been. Milo isn’t just a pet; he’s my family. He comes with me everywhere he can, always curious, always full of love.

This morning, I rushed him to the vet because he started breathing strangely and struggling to get air. They found fluid in his chest, and now he’s being treated and tested to figure out if it’s from his heart, lungs, or something else. He’s staying in the hospital for oxygen support and monitoring while they work to stabilize him.

The estimate for his care is between $3,500 and $5,000, depending on how long he needs hospitalization and what treatments end up being necessary. I’ve attached the vet’s estimate below so everything is transparent.

I’m doing everything I can, but this hit out of nowhere, and I can’t afford the full cost on my own. I love Milo more than anything, and I just want him to have the chance to get better and breathe comfortably again.
