What once began as a humble studio in a converted garage, has now become a community gem that has captured the hearts of so many. While still humble, Woodland Dance Center has grown from its one room studio of 10-15 students to a multi studio facility serving over 150 children, teaching many dance styles and competing in competitions, conventions, and most recently performing in Disneyland!
Like many small businesses, WDC has been hit hard financially due to COVID-19. It has closed it's doors for the 2020 season in compliance with Federal and State guidelines. Unfortunately WDC did not qualify for many of the COVID-19 business Relief programs, and as the PPP programs quickly ran out of funding for relief loans have few options to consider moving forward.
It's looking as if the 2020 dance season will not end in the normal fashion of recital excitement, costume changes, and recognition to our dancers for a year of hard work. BUT....we WILL be supporting our students, studio, and staff to ensure in 2021 we can rise up and dance with more passion than ever!
Studio owner Josie Waddell has impacted the lives of so many dancers through her mentoring, teaching, passion for the art of dance, and commitment to making her studio one of integrity and where young dancers can thrive! "Dance training is Life Training" as they say ...and we're going to make this "fall" part of our dance, rising stronger from these ashes. Studio space rent and operational costs continue despite closed doors and we want to help lighten the financial burden to ensure a 2021 dance season for our community. Our mission is to show love back to the studio who has given our community so much joy. Please consider supporting where your heart leads you to do so. With love, WDC parents and dancers
