On Tuesday, November 18th, life changed in an instant for Donovan, a strong, healthy, and determined 19-year-old, and for his family. In the days leading up to an emergency room visit, Donovan began experiencing severe headaches, vision issues, and dizziness. A CT scan brought devastating news: a mass was causing dangerous fluid buildup in his brain.

He was life-flighted to Denver, where he has already endured two brain surgeries while in the ICU. Although the procedures were necessary, this is only the beginning of a long journey. Once Donovan heals from surgery, he will face more challenges as doctors determine the best path forward for treating the tumor.

Anyone who knows Donovan knows the light he brings to those around him. He is kind, athletic, funny, and strong in his faith, which has carried him through even the hardest moments. Even in the midst of pain and uncertainty, he continues to show incredible courage, cracking jokes with nurses and staying connected to everyone caring for him.

Navigating this crisis emotionally, physically, and financially has been overwhelming for Donovan’s family. They are doing everything they can to stay strong for him while facing medical bills, travel costs, and the realities of long-term recovery.
