My name is Neil French, and I am a Boy Scout out of Troop 246 in Grand Haven, and I am raising money to fix the boardwalks at Minnie Skwarek Nature Preserve. These boardwalks are over 14 years old now, and they desperately need some attention. This nature preserve is extremely important for the local wildlife, and the fact that humans can also enjoy it is a gift, and we should work to preserve that. The new boardwalks will be designed to last much longer and impact the wetlands much less, using metal piles for anything that contacts the water, and high-quality lumber for the rest, to insure they will stay here for many years to come.
