Senior Skoolie project! Our Capstone passion project.

Hi, we are Gabe Wylie, Kyle Gray, Kaleb Bernat, Graham Wetherall, and Liam Osban—five seniors from Stratford High School in Houston, Texas. We will be participating in a senior project for our class, Academy of Science and Engineering. A.S.E. is a two-year program focused on hands-on engineering.

For our senior Capstone Passion Project, we’ve chosen to transform a full-sized school bus into a fully functional motorhome to take on a cross-country road trip. This project is not only going to be fun for us, but it is also going to challenge us to design and engineer the entire layout of the bus. Between plumbing, electricity, insulation, framing, ventilation, flooring, and more, there is tons of work for us to do.

Our goal is to convert the bus into a fully functional motorhome for under $12,000, which covers: buying the bus (up to $7,000), a year of storage ($75/month), registration, licensing & insurance, flooring, framing & insulation, electrical & plumbing systems, and other appliances.

We will be posting updates regularly on our Instagram and website, sharing designs, photos, and much more of the process. We really appreciate any and all donations. Every dollar counts, whether it’s $5, $50, or more. All donations will go directly towards the bus, materials, tools, storage, and any other essentials needed to finish the build.
