Hello,

My name is JIm Bell and i have been battling cancer since the summer of 2014. That year I was diagnosed with "large diffuse B-cell lymphoma, stage 3". With the help of my first oncologist I beat cancer into remission by the end of that year! A year after that, she retired and i opted to wait for her replacement. In that time frame everything seemed to be doing fine, i was playing drums with my band, feeling really great! During a trip to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary things began to hurt. I was seeing a physical therapist for a different reason and brought up the pains, which I thought were due to traveling, she asked if i had spoken to my oncologist regarding these issues. My appointment was not for another month, so i said "no", and she recommended i do so. After getting in i was sent for scans immediately and found the cancer was back, not in the same place, and now stage 4. My new oncologist has done really well over the last year and we even had me back into remission at the end of 2016. Then insurance problems began happening. My employer switched health care providers in 2017 and they didn't want to cover most of the procedures my team of doctors had planned. During the two months of back and forth with them, the cancer came back again and i have now entered radiation, as well as chemotherapy, to battle this terrible disease.

I have decided to start this crowd-funding to counter some bills that have arose due to not being able to work as much as I wish i could. My employers have been amazing at giving me the time off i need for doctor's appointments, travel to other hospitals for specialized treatment and the general fatigue that comes along with battling cancer. Unfortunately, I have not been at this job long enough to accrue the hours that would allow me to receive fmla benefits and that has caused me to fall behind on some utilities and ultimately have some turned off.

This crowd-funding has been put off for months because i hoped to be better and get things back on track. I am now past that point and am borderline desperate to get funds to make everything better that i've begun to pawn my instruments to make ends meet. I, therefore, ask that you consider donating whatever you can to assist me in getting my life back in order.
