WCS Outdoor Basketball Court Improvement Project

My name is Kevin Lahiri and I am an 8th grader at Williston Central School. For my Personal Interest Project, I am raising money to improve the Williston Central School playground basketball court.
The WCS playground basketball court is a place where I spend a lot of my recreation time and a lot of others do too. As many as 20 kids can be playing basketball at any given time. Others in our community use this space too. It has some unsafe elements that I would like to improve and replace. For example, the edge of the court has a sharp drop that is both a tripping and falling hazard. In addition, the basketball hoops, nets, and backboards are rusty and bent and in need of replacement. The goal of the project is to regrade the surface around the gooseneck post and replace backboards, hoops, and nets.
Our goal is to raise $4500 by April 2020, when site work and installation have been planned.
