It is one of everyone's worst fears. You and your young family go to bed at night only to wake up as a fire starts to take hold of the older home you've been working so hard to renovate.

This was the shocking reality that my co-worker was faced with this last Friday night.

Matt, Kate, Rachael (17), Sami (16), Eli (13), Aaron (10) and puppy Milo are all safe after a damaging house fire. The fire was contained in the front entry way and first floor bathroom although rooms adjacent were affected by water and smoke and the family has been displaced until the home is deemed safe from asbestos, smoke fumes and water damage.

Thanks to a wonderful larger family including relatives, friends, and community - they are safe and taken care of. Once inspections, adjusters and insurance are sorted - their long term plan should be okay. However Matt and his family have an immediate need as they navigate the short term impact of this terrible event.
