WCGC Charity Christmas Fundraiser 2020

Wakefield Community Gospel Choir  was set up in 1997 and continues to build their supporters each year.

This year has been a strange one with no performances and very little chance to rehearse together.

We haven’t let this stop us though, we continued on Zoom and in the first lockdown produced a series of Lockdown Virtual Choir videos which we shared on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

This year as we are unable to hold our usual Christmas concert, where we raise funds for charity, we thought we would go back to our virtual choir and use the opportunity to support local charities who have struggled during these difficult times.

Choir members have chosen charities that have particular meaning to them. We hope that we can raise a significant amount that will be shared amongst the listed charities.

WCGC will keep no money from the fundraising, all money raised will be given to the charities.

The charities we have chosen to support are:

Wakefield Hospice
Maggie’s Leeds
Prince of Wales Hospice 
Wakefield City of Sanctuary
St. Gemma’s Hospice
Catch a Falling Star
Prickly Edge Hedgehog Rescue
