My name is Miki, this week my healthy young bunny Kisho passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Kisho's bonded partner, Nala, was brought to the vet the next day to make sure nothing was contagious. They found an unrelated issue and have given me the weekend with meds to keep her comfortable to decide between surgery or euthanasia.
Nala has an infected tooth root abscess and a swollen chin full of thick pus that needs to be debulked. She needs the tooth removed, x-rays, and possibly a CAT scan all at a rabbit specialist 4 hours away this week. This is all going to be at least $3000 not including follow ups, meds, etc.
I don't think I can live with myself not giving her a chance at life when she is still so bright, alert, responsive, and loving snuggles and soft treats. She has an appetite, is playful, she's still flopping over happily in the sunshine. I don't think she's ready to go and I think giving her a second chance even if this has risks is what is right.
Nala is a rescue, I don't know how old she is, she was found on the streets by the shelter. At best this could save her life and give her some more years. I think it's worth a shot, I don't know if I can live with myself not trying for her.
I'm trying to get the bank to raise my credit card limit but with the costs from Kisho's unexpected death, the costs for Nala, the future meds, etc, I just want to have the best chance for saving her. Anything helps, a dollar, a share.
Thank you for considering helping me save my baby :(
