Summit for Success
Hi, my name is Christopher Wieben and I’m taking on a challenge that’s as physical as it is personal: climbing Aconcagua, the highest point in the western hemisphere, at nearly 7,000 meters (22,837 ft). But this isn’t just about the summit—it’s about raising awareness and vital funds for men and women’s mental health in the construction industry.
Why this cause?
Construction is one of the most demanding and dangerous industries out there. It’s also one of the least talked about when it comes to mental health. Long hours, tough conditions, stigma, and a “just get on with it” culture have left too many men and women suffering in silence. As someone who currently works in the trade everyday, it is becoming a larger and larger issue.
Suicide rates in construction are alarmingly high. And yet, mental health support is often underfunded or not even acknowledged on job sites.
Why Aconcagua?
Climbing a mountain like Aconcagua is symbolic—every step uphill reflects the uphill battle many men and women face every day just trying to hold it together. It’s about endurance, resilience, and the courage to face what feels impossible. The trek will take nearly 3 weeks to complete and will be extremely strenuous.
This climb isn’t just a personal goal—it's a message: You’re not alone. There’s strength in speaking up.
Where the funds will go
100% of funds will go to a charity CMHA Alberta Division.
Larger donations can choose to have their logo displayed on a Canadian flag that I will carry with myself and have a photo taken on the summit.
Your donation will help:
Fund accessible mental health resources for construction workers
Create awareness campaigns to fight stigma on job sites
Support counseling and peer-support networks for tradesmen
Join the journey
Whether you donate, share this campaign, or just talk to someone about what they’re going through—you’re part of this mission.
Let’s climb this mountain together—both the real one and the one too many men and women face alone every day.
Thank you for your support,
Christopher Wieben
