UPDATE: Our father succumbed to the side effects of his last chemo therapy treatment for Leukemia and has suddenly passed away today on 4/4/2022. We are asking for donations so that we may lay our father to rest peacefully. We thank you for your continuous support during this time.
During the first week of December, our family was rocked by two monumental events hours and miles apart from each. We welcomed the safe arrival of the newest baby girl to our clan in New York City while, within a couple of hours, our father was being hospitalized in Puerto Rico for increasingly troubling health complications that were soon diagnosed as Leukemia. He has successfully completed one round of chemotherapy but will need several more sessions before taking on the most harrowing part of this journey: a bone marrow transplant.

The road to surgery is long, painful and financially overwhelming which is why my family comes to you today with this very humble ask: if you have the financial means, can you please donate what you can to aid in the financial burden of providing the necessary care for our father? Our father, José Rivera Amador, is a kind, hard-working man who is one of the biggest dreamers you will likely ever meet in your life. He has yet to reach the age of 60 and still has so many new memories to make with his ever-growing family including his three daughters and three granddaughters (the newest addition gracing our family during that fateful week in December). He still has so much life to live.
