The ball of energy you see here is my dear friend, Cyndi Scallin Durham. I have started this fundraiser to help her in her fight against metastatic breast cancer, which has returned with a vengeance after 17 years in remission.
Those who know Cyndi love her for her playful spirit, hilarious sense of humor, many creative talents and above all, her devotion to friends and family.
She's the creative force behind family milestone celebrations, office parties and class reunions, providing that special spark. Cyndi can make you laugh at anything, even herself! She's the only person I know who can turn a trip to the ER with purple fingers into a hilarious stand-up routine. She has a heart of gold and will drop everything and give the shirt off her back to help a loved one in need. Now, I'm hoping we can gather around Cyndi to lift her up in her time of great need.
Cyndi begins chemotherapy today, and already faces rapidly mounting out-of-pocket medical costs that threaten to overwhelm. She is in a great deal of pain, and uncertain how long she will continue to be able to work. She needs to be able to focus her energy 100% on getting through treatment and healing. That's why I am reaching out to you now. We all long to help when a loved one is facing a crisis, but are sometimes unsure how best to do that. We can't fight cancer for Cyndi, but we can help relieve some of her worries and free her to meet it head-on.
If you are in a position to donate (or simply share this page with your community), your generosity and kindness will have a direct and immediate impact on Cyndi's quality of life. The funds raised here will be used to help cover medical bills, supportive care, and living expenses in the event she has to stop working.
Cyndi beat breast cancer once before, and with our help she can focus her energies on beating it again!
Note: If you want to follow Cyndi's progress, please check back on this page as I will continue to provide updates below.
