Basil's Surgery

My beloved kitty, Basil, went missing for 8 days. I searched for her hours each day, hung posters around my town, delivered flyers to my neighbors, posted on all social media platforms, and prayed. Unfortunately, I was not able to find basil, but instead, she found me.
Thursday morning I heard meowing at my back door and opened it to find Basil dragging herself to the door. I was so happy to see my baby, but I knew immediately something was wrong. She was rushed to the animal hospital and upon x-rays and exams the vet determined that both of her hind legs were broken. Most cats can normally heal quite well from a broken bone, but due to the severity of the breakage the vet explained that she would either need immediate surgery or euthanasia. Thankfully, a local surgeon agreed to take Basil in and perform the surgeries. She is currently getting prepared for surgery in Ballston Spa, NY.
The initial hospital visit entailed X-rays and blood work which cost roughly $700. The surgeries are estimated to cost anywhere from $2,400 - $2,900. I am not yet sure of the recovery costs, but I am sure there will be many. I intend to give my fur baby anything and everything she needs from surgery and medication, to TLC and endless snuggles.
I am so grateful for the support I have received both locally and afar. Your thoughts and prayers brought my baby back home! For those willing and able to extend your support financially, Basil and I would be forever grateful. This is a costly process, but Basil deserves to be healed and home with her family.
Thank you again to everyone for your continuous support.
