Help Joe Beat Cancer

Hi my name is Pat and I'm fundraising for my brother Joe.

My younger brother has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Joe is a dedicated and caring special education teacher and his wife is a caregiver for the elderly and disabled. They are a young couple who love camping and rescuing dogs. They both contribute so much to the community and now they are in a time of need. In 2020 Joe got a bad case of Covid. As a result he now has COPD with lung scaring and breathing problems. During a recent flare up he had to be hospitalized. He already had scans that showed spots on his lungs. They found that one of the spots had grown and did a biopsy. It came back as cancer. He has upcoming surgery to remove the cancer as well as a portion of his lung. Even though Joe and Jenny work extremely hard (Jenny also takes classes towards a degree in school psychology), they are living paycheck to paycheck . Jenny is now losing hours at her job in order to care for Joe. Joe may quickly use up his remaining sick days before he has recovered and then not be paid. Plus they are already accruing medical costs and that is before the surgery and recovery.
