#TeamYenessa fighting Lung Cancer

I'm raising money mostley to help with medical cost. Although I have insurance it does not cover the full costs of treatment and/or medications. So everyones story is different so heres mine! My name is Yenessa Salas and i am 26 years old. I was first diagnosed in Oct. 2012 while I was 3 months pregnant with my youngest child. First diagnosis was stage 1 "Fibro Sarcoma" in my left thigh. Had my 1st surgery in Puerto Rico were I am originally from Nov. 7 2012 and had my beautiful and healthy baby girl in March 2013. August 2013 I notice a lump in the same area of my previous surgery. Called the doc did some scans and to my surprise it was back. Scans reveled 2 tumors(stage 2 now) which I had removed in Sept. 6 2013. I was constantly checking myself due to the high recurrence rate with Sarcoma and a measly 3 months later in Dec. 2013 I noticed yet another lump in the same area as the previous 2 surgery sites. After speaking with my doc back home in PR I asked him if it was a good idea to maybe look for a place where there was a specialist due to how rare sarcoma is. After much research I decided on Mayo Clinic in Jax Fl! The best decision I could have ever made BTW!!! Finally I was able to fly out in Feb 2014! My specialist here at Mayo decided to retest my pathology slides and to my surprise I really had Synovial Sarcoma. So after discussing all my treatment and surgery options including amputation I decided that keeping my leg was the most important thing!! I started chemotherapy and radiation therapy in Feb 2014 until April and had the biggest surgery ever May 7 2014 to remove about 7 tumors stage 3 now along my leg. With more than 400 stitches from ankle to groin , a skin graft on my left knee and about 4 months of physical therapy which included learning how to walk again I had made it through one of the toughest things ever, a major surgery! Did chemotherapy after surgery as well until August 2014 just to minimize the risk of recurrence and to my surprise I was officially Cancer Free!! Fast forward to January 2015 routine scans reveled a nodule in my left lung. It was to small to biopsy so we decided to give it some time hoping it would go away. March 5 2015 rescans and the nodule had grown more than double its size and some new lessons along the posterior part of the lung were also present. March 31 2015 had my lung biopsy and it has yet come back for a 4th time in less than 3 years. So now my current diagnosis is Stage 4 metastatic monophasic synovial sarcoma in the lung! I started chemotherapy last month and will be until August when we will talk about options and if it is controlled enough for surgery. Then thing about Sarcoma is that there is really no effective treatment to break down or make these tumors go away, so surgery is always a must. To be very honest with you guys I am OK with it. Since day one. I am a fighter and my will to live is much greater than any cancer that invades my body. At this point in my life I am just so happy to wake up every morning and spend another day with my children and husband! Every day a wake up is a blessing and an Amen in my book. I've always been a hard worker but due to my on and off again "relationship" with this cancer thing its very had to for me to go back to work. We live paycheck to paycheck and it is just not enough to cover all my medical expenses especially since I resently had to stop working. Any help is more than welcome and I want to thank any and all of you before hand who help me through this! With much love, good vibes and eternal blessings your way again I say Thank You!
