Please Help Me Help Lucy

Hi,

I understand times are tough, and I genuinely wish I didn’t have to ask for help. However I am reaching out for my beautiful Beagle, Lucy who has torn her cruciate ligament and requires specialist surgery. Lucy is currently unable to weight bare and is on three legs. Whilst she is on pain relief, she is still in pain. The sooner we can get this specialist surgery done, the quicker she can start healing.

Lucy has had a big week with consultations and x-rays and vet bills already amounting to over $1000. The quote for specialist surgery will bring her medical expenses over $7000, for one leg (she may need surgery for the second leg). The recovery from surgery is approximately 12 weeks.

Lucy was born on Christmas eve in 2017 and spent the first year and a half of her life in a research facility. Lucy and her sister Georgie came into my care via Beagle Rescue Victoria in June 2019. To say they have touched my heart is an understatement.

Lucy and Georgie had a lot to learn but with love and patience and the help of big sister Grace, they soon learnt that puddles were fun and what it is like to run free. Lucy is a gentle soul and was wonderful with my dad when he had onset of dementia.
