Help "Naked Ed" rebuild a home after the fire

Donation protected
Hi,  My name is Sherry and I have helped Ed create this Go Fund Me.   I am asking for help for our community friend, Ed Watts. Most of you may know him as "Naked Ed",  the man who lived in the hut at Lily Springs. Many of us have paddled into Lily or maybe even camped out there. Many have lunched there or dared friends to take a plunge to jump off of Ed's dock into Lily over the years. I was honored to have my own sign, "Sherry's Point" placed at my favorite camp spot. I have called Ed a friend for almost 25 years. I have set this up and linked it to Ed's account in hopes that he will be able to pay for immediate lodging needs while planning for a more permanent structure back on the property.

Ed's immediate needs are lodging now.  He is in a hotel at the moment and is need of help to pay for a place until he gets a rebuild. He will need some small new living structure put in its place. (We all know Ed can live simple and prefers to do so, so a simple living structure will do just fine). If anyone can help by donating money, or skills or time to assist- or possibly, if anyone may have a small structure to donate for Ed to live in on this property.
If you can donate to this cause Ed would be so grateful. Donations of time and assistance when the time comes would be another great gift.

I am asking for some support for Ed. He has shared with the community for years, keeping Lily a beautiful place for all to enjoy for so many years. Maybe you ran into him at The Great Outdoors in High Springs? He needs our help now. I'm asking that we come together and give something back to Ed in his time of need.

Due to health issues, Ed has not been able to live at Lily for the past few years. Instead, he has been living in his family home where he grew up as a child. Unfortunately, this home burned down on 2/1/22- and it was not insured. (It was in the local news yesterday). Ed lost all of his belongings (he took to clothing in the past few years, lol). These don't matter much to him. The things he saved were his pictures of his life at Lily.

Feel free to reach out to ask any questions or offer any other type of assistance. And thank you for being kind.
