Hi! As many of you know, my mother passed away April 3, 2003 after an intense battle with breast cancer. After my mother emigrated her from DR, she sprung herself into a grueling career as a corrections’ officer. Thanks to her consistent sacrifice and endless hard work, she was able to leave death benefits for my sister & I after her passing. Through years of being a ward of the state and a foster care child, I was finally able to apply for these funds once I had a stable address here in Portland. These funds have been stolen from me by my sister, and I am taking legal action to pursue funds my mother left for me to better my life without her (or my deceased father’s) parental support.
I have been resilient, scrappy and savvy in navigating an adolescence and subsequent adulthood laced in strife, homelessness and struggle. I am proud to say my stability is something I’ve worked hard for. I am currently in school pursuing my second certification and plan to continue my educational pursuits with my own income.
The retainer fee is collectively $3,500. I will cover the travel between states and can use the small bit of my savings for any other extraneous expenses that may crop on. I would appreciate any help in achieving this goal! My mother gifted me with many of her talents. With the current professional position I’m in, I would be able to live a life without financial straits and help the community that has tirelessly lifted me up time and time again.
If you’d read this far, thank you! You all truly mean so much to me.
