Lindly was seriously injured in a traffic accident on February 4 in Washington, D.C. on her way to her job as a server at the Occidental. She had to be cut out of her car after a driver traveling at high speed caused a chain reaction of collisions in an intersection.
The driver was jailed. Lindly was hospitalized with multiple broken bones including her leg, ribs, shoulder, and fingers.
Her injuries jeopardize her ability to create art, to teach, and to work at the restaurant where she has been a well-known food and wine expert since 1986.
Making a living as an artist is challenging and Lindly worked at the Occidental to feed her second passion, food, and to fill in the benefits not provided by her art.
The life she carefully cobbled together has been thrown into disarray by this unfortunate incident.
The way back to her work and her life will be costly. There will be legal challenges and physical uncertainties. Your contribution can help ease her worries and will go toward the treatments she will need.
Lindly has taught polymer clay art to thousands of enthusiasts around the world. She is recognized as a master colorist and her works appear in museum collections and in many art books.
She has taught in countries around the world and is famous for her ingenious methods of mixing and using color.
Lindly has long been an important leader in the art community and she needs your help. Your donation now will make a difference.
