Wayne’s Wishes

On Saturday the 8th of October 2022 my life changed forever.
My whole world fell apart and I lost my partner who was my soul mate and best friend to lung cancer. The journey we travelled together had so many ups and downs and was a rollercoaster of emotions. It’s one that I would never wish on anyone. Watching the love of my life go through so much pain for so long was just the most heartbreaking experience I ever had to face.

We met in August 2015 and we fell in love from that very first moment. Our journey was not plain sailing, in fact it was incredibly tough, but we always kept strong and Wayne would always say to me
“Joy! these obstacles we face will only make our love stronger - no one and nothing can break that or us”

He was absolutely right. No one ever broke us. They actually made our love grow more , if that were ever possible.
However, our beautiful journey came to an end last October when he was cruelly taken from me by this awful disease.
He fought to the very end and said many times to me
“I’ve met you ,the love of my life, so why do we have to go through this pain. This isn’t how it should be Joy. We should be living our best life and fulfilling all these wonderful dreams”
He also said
“Joy! I promise you my darling we will do all of these things. I promise you that “
His positivity was truly incredible!

Unfortunately however, this was never to be due to his battle with cancer.
These wonderful trips that he had booked and planned for us had to be cancelled. One being a trip to Venice for my 50th,which would have taken us on a speed boat to the most beautiful hotel with stunning views, this was a trip that so many of us could only dream of.
It broke his heart that we never got to go.
We also spoke many times about taking a trip to Lindos, a place that we both loved, but never got to go together. He would always say
“I’m taking you there and I’m gonna marry you in that little white church right on the edge of Lindos village. You will be my Mrs H and I will cherish you for always”
Our love was the most beautiful love imaginable and I would always say to Wayne
“Are we allowed to be this happy?”
And he would reply saying
“Absolutely! And It is my goal to get you there and I will my darling. I will, I promise”
Again! This wasn’t to be.

Now that you know a little bit about us and our love for one another and the dreams we both shared together , you will also know why it is so important for me to fulfil these dreams too.

Wayne’s wishes were incredibly important to him and even more so when he was diagnosed with cancer. We both truly believed that he would get through this and that we would be able to do these amazing things together.
So now I must make sure that I fulfil these wishes for both of us as I know that he would want nothing more.

This Go Fund Me page is to raise money for Wayne’s wishes and for breathing equipment for patients suffering with lung cancer and respiratory problems at home.

On the 15th of April I will be walking the Seven Sisters Coastal Trail from Seaford to Eastbourne. This beautiful walk is 21.5 km and will roughly take 6 hours.
I am hoping to raise enough money to achieve all these WISHES !!

I would like to thank you all for taking the time to read my story and it would be amazing if you could donate anything at all. I appreciate that we are all living in a very difficult time financially at the moment and everyone is having to cut back one way or another. But I would be forever grateful for any donations at all that you can make to fulfil my darling Wayne’s wishes and to be able to support this wonderful small charity.

Many thanks to all of you
