Wayne’s journey

Hi, my names Eve and I’m fundraising for my dad Wayne. My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 Squamous cell carcinoma, a rare form of non melanoma skin cancer that originates in thin and flat squamous cells, found in the skin, repertory tracts and hollow organs. On the 5th feburay 2024 my dad underwent surgery to remove the cancer that had spread to his lymph nodes, this was successful, however that wasn’t the only present cancer within him. The primary cancer is the main denominator in this whole process, the one that isn’t present to the eye but will travel elsewhere to grow. My dad underwent 25 rounds of radiation therapy and rang the bell with us all present when he had completed his 5 weeks, which was the smallest bit of light for us all among the chaos we have endured. My dad is now still very much not out of the woods, attending all his scans, biopsy’s and checks to see if they primary has made itself present to start a new treatment.

I have started this fundraiser for him, all donations big or small are more than appreciated and will go into a safe haven pot I’ll be creating to take my dad on a once of a lifetime trip to where he’s always wished to go.
