Wayne’s Heart Journey

Hi this is Jocelyn, Wayne’s youngest daughter, and we are raising funds to help with the cost of my Dad’s surgery and recovery. This will help make it a little less stressful for him and his wife, Hannah, during this already incredibly stressful/emotional time.

On October 12th, 2022, Wayne was unexpectedly admitted to the hospital in heart failure. Due to the severity of his condition, he was transferred from Carilion via helicopter to Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. His journey has been rough and he has been through a lot, but the doctors are incredibly impressed with his recovery thus far.

Wayne is scheduled for an LVAD (left ventricular assist device) on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022 at Duke, which may include fixing his aortic valve. This is a very risky procedure for him due to his critical state.

After his surgery, he will have extensive rehab with the hopes of returning to his life on the farm and with his loving wife Hannah.

This go fund me would help Wayne and Hannah with medical bills, hotel stays, transportation expenses to and from Duke, parking (8$ per day), paying for animal sitters, and help relieve some of the day to day stresses that will come along with his long recovery.
