Wayne Stephens

Hi, my name Samantha Stephens, I'm Wayne's daughter. Many people in the Keys know Wayne as their thoughtful, kind and hard working painter. He is loved by many families and friends for being selfless, generous, and an honest man. Around 2 years ago he started to lose his voice and it progressively got worse over time. He was sent to a Ear, nose and throat specialist in Key West, where he was misdiagnosed for severe allergies and acid reflux. As time went on his symptoms worsened which pushed him to receive another opinion. Almost 2 months ago he was diagnosed with stage 4 Laryngeal cancer, he just recently went under major life saving surgery. He soon will be going through treatment and his life will never be the same. Due to the severity of his cancer, he will not be able to return to his line of work for at least a year and a half. The Keys have been his home for over 30 years. He will be sadly leaving the Keys and moving closer to myself and more family in Orlando. With Wayne being out of work for this amount of time, our family will struggle with medical bills and the funds in order to help get him back to his feet. Were asking from the community that Wayne loves so dearly to help support him throughout his journey.
