On January 4th, Wayne Kruger was driving his snowmobile to pick up his son at the bus stop. In a flash, a bump in the ditch caused the snowmobile to pitch up - throwing Wayne off. The track hit his chin - throwing him backwards.
He lied there for 45 minutes, waiting for help, unable to move - other than wiggling his feet a little. After being found and airlifted to Avera Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD - doctors stabilized his head and neck and ran imaging tests.
Today, the results came back: A contusion to his 2nd & 3rd cervical vertebrae. A contusion is GOOD news - meaning that while it is dangerous, it doesn't appear to be permanent!
Right now, Wayne is unable to feel his arms, but is regaining some more movement to his legs. He is surrounded by his family and is encouraged by all your support and prayers.
He is self-employed as a constructionist - Wayne Kruger Construction. He will be unable to work for the foreseeable future and the medical bills will pile up. I spoke with both he and Amy this morning and later was asked by his daughters to set up the GoFundMe page for them - being a fellow Ash Creeker while growing up.
Give what you can - this family is strong in faith (United Methodist Church in Luverne) - and has roots in SW Minnesota, with both Wayne and Amy graduating from Luverne and raising daughters here in Rock County.
They adopted Sam and their nest is full again. They need our help. Please share this with your racing friends, your snowmobiling friends, your LHS friends - far and wide. The road will be long - but he will not be alone in the journey!
