Hi my name is Waylon and he was born 4/28/2023. Waylon was born in respiratory failure and without a heart beat. The drs worked 9 minutes to get him back to normal. After that he was transferred to randells children hospital and put in the nicu. When he arrived at the nicu the medical staff stuck him on a hypothermic cooling blanket to cool his inner body temperature down to reduce the swelling in the brain and hope to help the damage caused. Waylon have something called HIE and that is a condition of which he had a lack of blood and oxygen in his brain. He was cooled for 72 hours at which time the medical staff found that he was having silent seizures in his brain. After the 72 hours he was rewarmed and rechecked for seizures. On 5/3 he had an mri done. They found that he had a stroke in the right side of his brain. The medical team said with the severity of the stroke he in the high end of the spectrum to have a disability. With all that being said he will have physical therapy and neurology appointments and so much more. He slowly making a recovery but he’s no where near done. Will you please help my family with the cost of his stay to get the help he needs? Both Austin and I have been out of work for over 2 weeks and we are staying at a charity house in Portland. We plan on using the funds raised to help with his medical expenses.
