Waylon's Journey: Aid for Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Let me introduce you to the rootinest tootinest 4-year-old cowboy this side of the Mississippi. His name is Waylon. He is an aspiring excavator operator and rodeo extraordinaire.
He was recently attacked by a dog, who bit him multiple times, in the face and neck.
He was taken from a remote city to meet the ambulance, where paramedics began to tend to his injuries and perform procedures so that the hospital could save and reattach his nose.
After undergoing surgery in Fairbanks, he was taken to Providence Hospital in Anchorage where he stayed in the PICU for a few days to be monitored and tended to 24/7. After the PICU, he spent another couple of days in Providence, then was released to go home.
He requires 24/7 care for the next few weeks while his nose heals. He will have to be watched every second of the day so that he doesn't touch or apply pressure to his nose in any way or risk it falling off again. Sneezing and blowing his nose among a long list of other things means that his family will be unable to work during this time.
He is far from the finish line. His recovery journey has only just started. He will require multiple rounds of surgeries in the near future from a team of different specialists to handle the difficulties he will encounter as he continues to grow up.
He deserves the best medical care possible as any child does.
All proceeds will go to Waylon's medical and care expenses.
