Wayan & Ayus Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Wayan and Ayu, an incredibly caring, welcoming, and generous Balinese mother and father of two, need your help raising money to support their family during these financially challenging times. Wayan and Ayu ran a homestay in Ubud, Bali as their primary source of income. Due to the pandemic, their income has come to a halt as their homestay's earnings depended solely on tourism. In their best efforts to keep their heads afloat, Ayu began harvesting coconuts and Wayan moved to the countryside to help his parents with their farm. Upon Wayans return, he suffered a stress-induced heart attack and is no longer able to work. Wayan and Ayu have not made any income since March and are continuing to accumulate debt every month as they have exhausted all of their efforts to support their family. The family is now left unable to meet their basic monthly expenses for rent, food, water, medical bills, and daily offerings (canang sari: a cultural daily offering done a minimum of 15 times a day offering a floral arrangement and a small amount of money and food). Wayan, Ayu, and their family will be incredibly grateful for our support at this time as their daily lives have been unfathomably altered, and are struggling to make ends meet. If you are able to help in any way, big or small, it will be greatly appreciated.
