Help Di & Ken in their Cancer Battle

Donation protected
At Way2Fit and our broader community, we are trying to raise money for one of our dear members Dianne and her husband Ken. For the past 8 years, they have been battling cancer. Please read their story below in Dianne's words as we really respect their privacy and bravery:

Dianne and Kens Story in Dianne's words:

My husband and I met more than 30 years ago whilst both serving in the RAAF in South Australia.
In 2013 my husband was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. After radiation treatment, they thought it was gone only to discover 6 months later it was back and had metastasized into his hip and rib. He underwent chemotherapy only to be told that now his cancer is not curable.
Since then he has had 5 skin cancers, bowel cancer requiring surgery and April this year he was told he had kidney cancer. He had surgery to remove 1/2 of his kidney but 2 weeks later pathology came back not as kidney cancer but as a rare liposarcoma that requires further surgery.
In early August he will undergo major surgery to try to remove this latest cancer. His operation will take approximately 10 hours and require 2-3 weeks in the hospital.
We are doing our best to raise our two teenage children and remain strong for them as we don't have immediate family nearby. I work night shift looking after people with dementia and two years ago my husband had to give up work due to the side effects of the cancer treatment.
The last 8 years have been a real test of our strength but not our love for each other.

We live in tumultuous times and many people are facing strife and challenge. As a community, we were asking ourselves how we can effect positive change and what better way to start than to support those within our community!

Our goal is to raise $3000+ to support Di and Ken through these hard times. On the 25th we will be throwing an event at our facility in Joondalup. In addition, we will be organising a bunch of fundraising activities with some great prizes to be one from Personal training sessions to gifts donated from local business owners! ALL proceeds will go towards the fundraising efforts.

Thank you for any donation to help these wonderful people,

But we make a life by what we give.”
