Way to Work: Help A Survivor Buy a Car
Tax deductible
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to support Ohio Domestic Violence Network's campaign to help a formerly incarcerated domestic violence survivor get a car to have a safe way to work. ODVN will MATCH ALL GIFTS up to $2500. After years of being severely abused by her husband, Carmen (not her real name) killed him and was incarcerated for 26 years in a women's prison in Ohio. Carmen was one of 23 women assisted by a clemency and parole project ODVN founded with the Ohio Justice and Policy Center and Ohio Public Defender in 2016. She is the fourth woman in the project to win her freedom. The Ohio Parole Board released Carmen in July of 2021 and she already has a job, and is lining up permanent housing. Carmen rides her bike to her job in the food service industry, a plan that can't last with the coming winter weather. Carmen needs a car in January to get to work, and to expand her job opportunities, make better wages and continue rebuilding her life. ANY donation will help make an impact and will be matched by ODVN up to $2500.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
ODVN is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) agency. Contributions are Tax Deductible to the Extent Allowed by Law.
