Hello, I am Mahmoud Muhammad, from northern Gaza, Al-Nasr specifically. I am 32 years old and I have two children: Moatasem, 4 years old, and Muhammad, 2 years old. Muhammad suffers from Down Syndrome.

Muhammad had nephritis. He suffers from severe weakness in movement and high blood sugar, to the point that he loses consciousness completely.

We went to all the hospitals in Rafah, and no one knew how to help him. I had to treat him at my own expense and make an arduous journey to receive treatment.

The treatment is $100 every day, and I cannot continue the next day because I do not have the money to complete the treatment. The treatment takes a full year. Specifically, Mohamed requires physical therapy for $50, three hours of speech therapy for $35, as well as $10 worth of medications, including fumigants and nonconductive medications.

I am unable to work, as the occupation destroyed my workplace in Gaza. I alone bear the responsibility of my children and taking care of them. My wife, who was dear to me, and whom my children cried for every night, was martyred in Rafah at the hands of the occupation.

Let us not forget Moatasem. We stopped talking about the atrocities that befell us out of fear and bombing. This is often called PTSD. We miss our homeland, where we had the best memories. We had a company, a house, a factory, and a 2019 Jeep K Sorento that was purchased a week before the aggression against us intensified and then completely destroyed. In one day and one night, our lives turned into hell. My children were screaming and crying, the house was shaking, and we could see death in their eyes every moment.
