Brett's 30th birthday - Wax My Back for Cancer
Hey Friends and Family far and wide!
With my 30th birthday coming up I wanted to do something fun. I've talked for many years about how I would let my friends wax my back (if you haven't seen it... it's hairy... trust me) they just had to make it worth my while. A joke for many years, but the day has come, it's time for me to put up or shut up.
On April 13th, on my 30th birthday, I'm going to try to raise as much money as possible for my friend Amanda's continuing treatment, and recovery from colorectal cancer by letting my friends and loved ones watch as I get my back waxed.
At the end of last year our Austin family was rocked by this horrible disease. Our friend Amanda was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer, which, shocker, has changed all our lives down here in Texas. Our friends and families have stepped up to do everything we can, this is just another way for us to make this easier on Amanda.
To make it more fun we're going to make a bunch of Butt Club (see pic at the bottom... pun intended) swag to send out to people who donate, so here's how it's going to work:
Any donation = access to the live stream of the event
$15 = Butt Club Koozie
$30 = Butt Club Enamel Pin
$50 = Butt Club T-shirt
***The top 10 donators (or donating teams) will get to participate in the waxing of my back by getting a strip to pull.
- We understand that many donators will not be in Austin, but if you are not, we will help you choose the right person who is to pull one of those bad boys.

Amanda's strength and composure has been absolutely incredible. She has powered through the first round of chemo, is recovering from her surgery, and making her way through her second round of chemo now. The number of tough decisions (emotional and financial) she has faced I wish upon no one in their life, much less someone on the early side of 30.
Amanda has inspired all of us here in Austin during these trying times. She organized our friends to raise money and participate in the Livestrong 5k, spoke at a Livestrong event where she shared her story, and has a phenomenal blog in which she explores the struggles of being a 20 something with cancer (www.buttclub.co - my two favorite are the Silver Linings post and the 'What to do when your friend gets diagnosed with cancer' one).

Please if you're able to donate, we'd love your support, and to have you join in the fun. Also, share this with your friends and family, every little bit helps.
Cancer sucks, and I'm terrified of the pain. So celebrate with us, and come join us in the Butt Club.
All my love,
Brett C.
