UPDATE AS OF NOVEMBER 22, 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce that "Wawa" Jay Loyola's mother past away last night. He was set to leave for Manila this Wednesday, November 25, but Jay was not able to reach her before her passing.

May she rest in paradise and her soul at peace.

We are continuing this fundraising campaign in hopes that others will continue to support to help pay off not only Mama Loyola's medical bills, but now her funeral costs.  The final remaining costs for both the medical bills and the funeral is approximately $16,200.00. 

We want to thank everyone who has donated up to this point as it has helped tremendously.

Hello to all friends and community brothers and sisters. We are writing in support of our dear Wawa Jay Loyola, who just recently got the news that his Mother is in the hospital and was diagnosed with Stage 4 intestinal cancer.

Because his family resides in Palawan, Mama Loyola has been flown to Manila as her condition has worsened over the last two weeks. She is currently recovering in the ICU (as of November 12) after having her 1st of many surgeries to remove a large tumor from her intestine. Treatment cannot be done in Palawan, and Wawa Jay is the sole provider for his Mother, so he has to carry the full financial burden for her treatment and care. As many of you know, there is no medical insurance in the Philippines.

Wawa Jay is like family to us, and we can see how painful it is to worry about his mother from thousands of miles away. We know Wawa Jay also means a lot to many of you. It would be so helpful if you would consider giving even just $20 to help raise money for the cost of his mother's treatment, as well as to help cover his airfare home to be with her and make proper medical decisions. We have now set the stretch goal amount at a low $8,000, but of course any amount you can give will be much appreciated!

It would be ideal if we could raise enough to send him home by early December, 2015 so he can be by her side during her treatment. 

If you're not able to donate financially, please keep Wawa Jay, his Mom, and their family back home in your thoughts and prayers.
