Waves of Hope – A Dad of 4 Fighting MND
Donation protected
Our great mate Steve Maloney (IG -@whatneurons)
is facing the toughest battle of his life. Recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Steve’s world has changed overnight — but his spirit hasn’t.
A proud dad to three energetic boys and a beautiful newborn daughter, Steve has always been the heart of his family, friends and those around him. He’s a fun-loving larrikin, a devoted partner, and a passionate surfer who found freedom in the ocean.
The kind of bloke who lights up every room and would drop everything to help a mate.
Now it’s our turn to be there for him.
MND is relentless. It strips away independence and ability, but it can’t touch the love, courage, and resilience that Steve and his family show every day. But the challenges ahead — physically, emotionally, and financially — are immense.
This fundraiser is here to help ease that burden. Every dollar will go to Steve get access essential care and support, equipment, and allowing him to spend more precious time with his young family without the stress of financial pressure.
Additionally, to support Steve, I’ll be riding 120km in the Tour de Brisbane, pushing for a sub-4 hour finish, all in his name. Every kilometre is for Steve — a man who has given so much to his mates and family, and now needs us riding beside him in spirit.
Let’s show Steve and his beautiful family that they’re not in this alone. Let’s ride this wave together.
Thank you for your support — it truly means the world.
