The Watson family has had a few rough years.  They are an awesome family of five and in 2012 Sam the husband/dad was diagnosed with ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease.  As Sam's disease is progressing and the family is fighting those battles their middle child Jake started to become ill.  Jake has been diagnosed with an immunodeficiency that he has started receiving treatment for. 
This family has certainly had their share of hardships and are doing what they can to make ends meet.  However, with the much needed medical equipment for Sam and the upcoming treatments for Jake, things are tough.
